September 2016 Update

We have had a blessed summer! Our high school students went for a week of spiritual instruction in Michigan, we took an offering for Harvest Downtown Minneapolis, and both Michael Cuestas and Christen Murphy have joined our staff.

ONE BODY:
Our first annual combined service was a great day of worship, baptisms, fellowship, and weather. The participation of our church in attendance and serving on that day was astounding!

VERTICAL KIDS WEEK AND ST. VINCENT:
Harvest Kids held their first VKW in Rochester where kids were discipled in God’s Word. This week also served as a preparation for the team that went in July to the Caribbean. VKW was held at Harvest St. Vincent for their kids and guests. The leaders in St. Vincent were encouraged and equipped by our support. Five kids embraced Jesus Christ as their Savior!

VERTICAL CHURCH:
We have been taking a closer look at what it means to be a vertical church and a vertical follower of Christ. This series serves as a launch for the start of the ministry year in September. As elders we would like you to examine your heart in regard to our worship services:

  • Do you come to church expectant (vertical) or as a consumer (horizontal)?

  • Are you ready to hear the Word preached, then consider after the service how the message applies to you?

  • Is your heart prepared to worship in spirit and in truth?

  • Are you looking for an opportunity to pray with someone at church about a joy or concern?

  • Based on what God is doing in your life, are you ready to share the Good News with others?

NEXT STEPS:
We want to encourage you to go deeper in your relationship with Jesus and in your commitment to His church now more than ever!

  • Step 1: MEET is happening on September 11, 18, and 25. If you have yet to attend, this is a great way to learn more about our church and how God is at work among us.

  • Step 2: GROW is an in-depth look at what it means to be a quality disciple of Jesus Christ. The next class is Saturday, September 10 from 5:00-7:00PM at the church office.

  • Step 3: COMMIT is your opportunity to become a member of Harvest Bible Chapel. We believe membership is biblical and important because it is protection for you and momentum for the church. We ask that you prayerfully consider committing to membership as a next step.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please pray with us in these specific areas:

  • Roni Mugaki is close to the launch of Harvest Downtown Minneapolis!

Continue to pray for him and the core group.

  • Ministry Launch -  “Unstoppable: The Power of Making Disciples” A yearlong study in the book of Acts. Pray that God would pour out His Spirit on us as we examine the power of the New Testament church.

  • Vertical Church – pray that we would be a gropu of believers who see God’s glory fill His church.

  • Building – ask God to guide us to the gathering place He wants Harvest to call home.

Harvest Bible Chapel is a church that is elder governed and staff led. The men who currently serve as elders are Steve Buehler, Steve Deedrick, Ed Gaul, and Chris Persons.

We meet weekly on Wednesday evenings to pray over, discuss, and resolve various issues in our church pertaining to doctrine, direction, and discipline. In addition to these meetings, we desire to make ourselves available as shepherds to pray, counsel, encourage, and serve you. If you have needs, please feel free to seek us out. We are down front after each service and we would love to know and serve you.
